6IXTY8IGHT was founded in 2002 by Erik Ryd, a Swedish entrepreneur with an established lingerie manufacturing business in Asia. Erik saw a gap in the market for a youthful and energetic lingerie brand. He seized the opportunity by successfully launching the first ready-to-wear fashion lingerie collection in Paris.

From 2006 onwards, the brand expanded beyond its lingerie range, to include underwear, nightwear, loungewear, activewear, apparel and accessories.
